Introduction

247FoodService.com is an electronic trading name of Swanwick Catering Equipment.

The company was established over fifty years ago in the UK, selling proprietary food service and catering equipment to institutional kitchens, military mess halls, schools, colleges, licensed trade and outside caterers.

History

Since 1958, Swanwick Catering Equipment has been providing top brands from the industry to end users. In 1990 we were one of the first catering equipment distributors to start using AutoCAD to plan and design kitchens, and up until the mid nineties were sole UK and Europe agents for many US and Canadian brands of food service equipment. We were main dealers here for Market Forge, Vulcan Hart, APW Wyott, Jade and Univex.

Changes

The imposition of the CE certification in 1993 meant that the US brands could not be sold in Europe any longer, with a few exceptions, at which point we began to supply Zanussi Professional Equipment for the UK market, now known as Electrolux Professional. We continue to this day to supply US equipment into non-European destinations, including many countries in Africa and The Middle East. With a large part of the company strategy focussed on export we decided to offer 247FoodService.com, which further extends our reach into existing markets.
